The Saddle Pad Guest House

The Saddle Pad Guest House

Camelot Farms is happy to offer accommodations for horse people or non-horse people who wish a stay on the island with us. Whether for a day or a couple of weeks we maintain the Saddle Pad Guest House for our visitors. We are located near fishing, kayaking, golf, boating, shopping, Hunting Island State Park and historic downtown Beaufort. Historic Beaufort hosts a variety of entertaining festivals throughout the year. Camelot‘s Saddle Pad Guest House is located at the entrance to our farm and includes private paddocks located next to the house. The Saddle Pad has three bedrooms, two baths, fully equipped kitchen, cable TV and an internet connection.

For our horse visitors we offer boarding for your horses, full or partial board, training, lessons, guided rides, and special horseback riding day trips – all by appointment. There is always something going on at the farm. We are happy to have you be a "farmer for a day" and immerse yourselves in the equestrian life: just schedule with the Barn Manager and she will put you to work! You just might help deliver one of our new foals or drive a tractor!

Enjoy this time with your horse just relaxing or working on a new maneuver. Take hands-on ground-work lessons to improve your horse’s confidence and respect, or polish up that seat in the ring or covered arena. After a lesson go out and ride for miles along beautiful dirt roads and to the beach area. Watch the sunset on the water while riding the marsh lands.

Reservations are made through www.vrbo.com/258864.
Please check VRBO for more information and availability.

Testimonials

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be going back to visit again. It had outstanding accommodations for horses and people. They have gone above and beyond to make sure your stay is a pleasant one. It is a beautiful area to visit and ride horses." Amanda, Ga.

"My husband and I wanted to escape the winter weather of Ohio and find a place warm enough to ride and train our horses. After a lot of Internet searching we decided to spend the entire month of February with Anne and Mark at their "Saddle Pad" at Camelot Farms. We packed up the four horses and headed down south wondering if we would be sorry for committing to stay the entire month. Turns out we had such a great time that when I realized we only had a week left I was depressed! The time went so quickly. We made good use of the covered arena and the dressage arena making up for lost training time in the cold north. In nearby Beaufort we took a Carriage Tour and in addition to trying out many of the good restaurants. We spent a day at Hilton Head, a day in Savannah and the rest of the time we spent riding the beautiful plantation roads of Coffin Point Plantation and the nearby beach. Twice we took the horses to nearby Hunting Island where we rode on the beach at low tide. It was great fun for both us and the horses. Everyone at Camelot Farms was friendly and helpful. The horses were well taken care of and so were we. The accommodations were clean and comfy and cutely decorated in "contemporary equine". I wouldn't hesitate to go back or to recommend it to others. We had a great time and had the opportunity to make new friends!"Barbara, Ohio
